Bulgaria - Launch Event

Launch of a new project with an aim to reduce youth unemployment

At New Sustainable Generation's office in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, on June 22, a launch event for the "GO REMOTE" project offering chances for remote employment took place. The non-governmental group "New Sustainable Generation" in Bulgaria is implementing the "GO REMOTE" pilot project, which aims to lower youth unemployment in the country with a particular emphasis on young people from rural areas.

The project gives particular focus to young people from less developed regions who face social, economic, and demographic challenges. Making a platform for remote work will be one of the initiatives carried out by the "GO REMOTE" project. Project implementers hope to make applying for remote and hybrid jobs simpler and more accessible with the use of this platform. The recently formed website will be able to publish job openings for free in order to assist businesses in finding staff.

The launch of the platform coincides with the start of a two-year project cycle in which the company "New Sustainable Generation" and international project partners will organize conferences on remote work for employers and job seekers, carry out research on remote work in Bulgaria, and put in place mentoring programs and training where young people can gain the skills necessary for remote work.

Representatives from different institutions and organizations came to learn more about this amazing project and gave advice on how to further develop it. We had guests from the Employment Agency in Blagoevgrad, a member of the Career Center team of AUBG and owners of different IT companies in the city.

The “GO REMOTE” pilot project has been developed with the support of the EEA and Norwegian Fund for Youth Employment program and its main objective is to reduce youth unemployment in Europe.
